The Water Sector is responsible for the process of planning, coordinating and providing technical advice for all projects pertaining to water supply development. The Water Services Division (WSD) is responsible for studying, drafting and preparing tender documents for all water supply projects funded by the Federal Government (through grants or loans). It also provides water quality control services (raw and processed), water loss control, dam security, fluoridisation programme coordination, water sector resource supply and information management. Various programmes and activities planned by the WSD were implemented in line with Ministry and National objectives. The formulation and execution of policies pertaining to the national water services industry (incorporating water supply and sewerage services) were continued in line with the objective to modernise the industry according to standards and current good governance that would make the industry robust and competitive.
